Town of Lincolnville Comprehensive Plan
Town of Lincolnville Comprehensive Plan
The Town of Lincolnville is currently in the process of updating its 10-Year Comprehensive Plan.
This page provides details about the ongoing project and planning process.
Last updated in 2015, the purpose of a comprehensive plan is to guide the town’s long-term growth in a coordinated, thoughtful way that is consistent with the established vision of the community. A comprehensive plan itself is not a regulatory document, but rather a blueprint for decision-making by town staff, public officials, investors, and other stakeholders.
The policies and strategies outlined in this plan should be implemented through the various planning and regulatory tools at the town’s disposal, such as the annual budget, a capital improvement plan, zoning ordinance, land development ordinance, historic/cultural guidelines, and other policy documents.
In collaboration with the Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments (BCDCOG), this comprehensive planning process began in June 2025 with a kick-off meeting to both Planning Commission and Town Council and is expected to be completed in June 2026 with the adoption of the plan by Town Council.
